Profile of Sukardi Rinakit

Sukardi Rinakit was born in Madiun, June 5, 1963. He is a political observer and writer. Currently he is serving as President Joko Widodo’s Special Staff in politics. This is the second time Jokowi has entrusted Sukardi with this position. Sukardi is an intellectual figure who is capable and experienced in political affairs.

Sukardi completed his undergraduate education at the University of Indonesia, majoring in Criminology, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences. He continued his education and obtained a master’s degree at the National University of Singapore, Department of Southeast Asian Studies.

In addition, he has also worked as a research staff at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), and has served as Executive Director of the Soegeng Sarjadi Syndicate.

Sukardi used his experience working as a special staff who was often very close to the President to write a book about President Jokowi. The book was titled The Corner of the Palace and was published in 2018. In addition, he also created a popular work entitled The Indonesian Military After the New Order (Copenhagen, Singapore, 2004).

Currently she is the Indonesian Consul General in Vancouver, Canada. Previously, she has also served as Counselor for Political-Economic Affairs at the Permanent Representative Office of Indonesia to the United Nations.

As a Senior TV Producer, Patsy Widakuswarai leads the news production at VOA. Patsy started her journalism career at the age of 19 as a radio show host for M97 FM Prambors Group Jakarta, when she was still studying at the Department of International Relations, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences. When she was in college, she was also the co-founder of the first English debate group in Indonesia, the English Debating Society at Universitas Indonesia, and went on to win several national and international titles.

Patsy continued her career at several Indonesian television stations including ANTV and Metro TV. In 2001 Patsy received a Chevening scholarship for a Masters degree in TV Journalism at Goldsmiths College, University of London. She then worked on documentary films for Channel 4 and the BBC. From London, Patsy moved to Washington, DC and joined VOA in 2003

Patsy menjadi sorotan usai dibebastugaskan dari liputan di Gedung Putih oleh Direktur VOA, Robert Reilly dan wakilnya, Elizabeth Robbins; setelah mengajukan pertanyaan kepada Menteri Luar Negeri AS era Donald Trump, Mike Pompeo, yang dinilai tak etis. Namun, setelah 10 hari dibebastugaskan, saat ini Patsy telah kembali ditugaskan meliput di Gedung Putih.

Patsy came into the spotlight after being relieved of her White House coverage duty by VOA Director Robert Reilly and his deputy, Elizabeth Robbins; after asking questions which were deemed unethical to the Donald Trump-era US Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo. However, after 10 days of discharge, Patsy is now back in charge of covering the White House.

Agung Suprio has started his career since he was still studying at the University of Indonesia (UI) Political Science undergraduate program. After the 1999 elections, Agung became a member of the Center for Electoral Reform (Cetro) Workers’ Agency from 2000 to 2001.

His next work was to establish Vilters (Center for Civil Military Studies) with his colleagues from UI in 2001. Vilters is the result of his obsession to realize his thesis in the field of Political Science on civilian-military relations in a new era. As a result, Vilters published a book on the shift in civilian-military relations in 2001, using a qualitative research model in twenty second-tier regions in Indonesia.

Agung continued his education at the Universitas Indonesia Political Science postgraduate program, which led to Agung being appointed as Chair of Universitas Indonesia’s Political Science Postgraduate Student and Alumni Association. In 2015, he served as executive director of the Indonesia Public Policy Institute (IPPI). In 2016, Agung was selected as an Indonesian National Television (TVRI) guest announcer on the program Meeting Point (Titik Temu).

Pada tahun 2016, Agung terpilih menjadi komisioner Komisi Penyiaran Indonesia (KPI) Pusat periode 2016-2019 dengan amanah sebagai Koordinator bidang Pengelolaan Struktur dan Sistem Penyiaran. Pada periode selanjutnya, Dia mendapatkan kepercayaan menjadi Ketua KPI Pusat 2019-2022.

In 2016, Agung was elected as a commissioner of the Central Indonesian Broadcasting Commission (KPI) for the 2016-2019 period, serving as Coordinator of the Management of Broadcasting Structure and Systems. In the next period, he was entrusted to become the 2019-2022 Chairman of KPI.

Born in Rembang, January 4th 1975,

H. Yaqut Cholil Qoumas is the Minister of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, serving from 2020 to 2024. He finished his undergraduate education at the Department of Sociology, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Indonesia.

After finishing his studies at UI, in 2005, Yaqut entered the world of politics and was elected to the Rembang Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) from the National Awakening Party (PKB), and was later elected as Deputy Regent of Rembang for the 2005-2010 period. Furthermore, he also became a member of the National House of Representatives (DPR RI) for the 2015-2019 period as an Intertemporal Substitute (PAW), replacing Hanif Dhakiri who was appointed as the Indonesian Minister of Labor during that period.

Yaqut was re-elected as a Member of the House of Representatives for the 2019-2024 period, serving in Commission II which covered the fields of Domestic Government and Regional Autonomy, State Apparatus and Bureaucratic Reform, Elections, and Land and Agrarian Reform. In addition to his political activities, Yaqut was also Chair of Central Leadership of the 2011-2016 Ansor Youth Movement. At the 15th Congress at Pandanaran Islamic Boarding School, Yogyakarta, he was also entrusted with the position as General Chair of the Ansor Youth Movement from 2015 to 2020

Yaqut was inaugurated as Minister of Religious Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia on 12/23/2020. The President of the Republic of Indonesia views him as a Muslim figure who is expected to carry out the responsibility of creating a peaceful and prosperous interfaith life.

Lucky is a bachelor graduate from Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Indonesia with a major of Social Welfare in 1991, then he holds a master degree of the Institute of Social Studies in The Hague under Erasmus University Netherlands.

Prior to joining Aflatoun, he spent almost 17 years of his career in the NGO world in Indonesia. He joined World Vision Indonesia for 5 years (1997-2002), UNICEF Indonesia as Child Protection project officer (2002-2007) and ILO as Youth Employment project manager (2009-2014). Lucky has been working on grass root community level and also with high-level government officials and systems.

He enjoys working with Aflatoun International since it is like a continuation of his previous working experience in Indonesia. During his time with ILO’s youth employment project, he dealt with a financial education programme, a rights and responsibilities programme and an entrepreneurship and employability programme for young people. It is now more fun since he learns from many different partners and countries. He manages 35 NGO partners and 3 government partners in 13 Asian countries, delivering social and financial education to more than 4 million children.
