As a Senior TV Producer, Patsy Widakuswarai leads the news production at VOA. Patsy started her journalism career at the age of 19 as a radio show host for M97 FM Prambors Group Jakarta, when she was still studying at the Department of International Relations, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences. When she was in college, she was also the co-founder of the first English debate group in Indonesia, the English Debating Society at Universitas Indonesia, and went on to win several national and international titles.

Patsy continued her career at several Indonesian television stations including ANTV and Metro TV. In 2001 Patsy received a Chevening scholarship for a Masters degree in TV Journalism at Goldsmiths College, University of London. She then worked on documentary films for Channel 4 and the BBC. From London, Patsy moved to Washington, DC and joined VOA in 2003

Patsy came into the spotlight after being relieved of her White House coverage duty by VOA Director Robert Reilly and his deputy, Elizabeth Robbins; after asking questions which were deemed unethical to the Donald Trump-era US Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo. However, after 10 days of discharge, Patsy is now back in charge of covering the White House.
