Sandra Hamid pursued her undergraduate education in the Business Administration Program in 1981, and then continued her education until she earned a Ph.D in Anthropology at the University of Illinois. She was an active reporter for Tempo magazine from 1990-1992 and also a teaching assistant at the University of Illinois.
Currently, she serves as Country Representative at The Asia Foundation. Her interest in anthropology, particularly in political participation, freedom of religion, pluralism, and community development, is the basis for her active role in the development of social policies and programs. In fact, she is a three-time receiver of The Asia Foundation’s Presidential Award for Exceptional Performance.
